"You Don't Get AIDS From Loving Somebody"

Susan Lee Mintz, was a volunteer with the Comprehensive AIDS Program of Palm Beach County, lost her husband Jeffrey, to AIDS in August, 1994. Her story has been shared with audiences throughout South Florida as a way of encouraging AIDS awareness and in turn helping others deal with the impact of AIDS in their lives and those they love.

 

 

 

 

 

She is available to speak with groups who are interested in:

  • How to keep a marriage or relationship together after an HIV positive diagnosis
  • How to face the issue of getting tested
  • How to live each moment fully as a caregiver of an HIV positive person
  • How to create stability when everything around you is falling apart
  • How to use alternative approaches to the traditional medical services
  • How to provide comfort to the caregiver and the person with AIDS at the end of life
  • How to handle life after death of a loved one from AIDS
  • How to get involved in fighting AIDS
  • How our community is responding to the AIDS epidemic
  • How to find out more about HIV and AIDS
